We’ve reviewed the part about the Local Plan so that it meets the current regulations and is up to date on what we can commit to doing. We are consulting people on the updated version before we adopt as Council policy. To read the draft and find out how to comment, see our consultation page.

The Council aims to produce the new Local Plan for Darlington in the next two years – after that it will take another year to be adopted. It sounds like a long time, but the Local Plan has to bring together a lot of different topics for the whole Borough and be sure our plans can all be delivered – there’s a lot of work to do!
