By Planning Policy Team at 6 Nov 2023Design NE will be holding a Drop In Session for the Skerningham Garden Village Design Code - Draft SPD during the official consultation period which allows you to ask specific questions regarding the Draft Design Code produced by us for the Council. Council staff will also be available to explain how you can make your comments to the consultation.
The session will be held on Thursday 22nd Sept 2022 between 15:30 – 19:30 at Harrowgate Hill WMC and Institute, Salters Ln N, Darlington DL1 3DT
In addition to the engagement session on Thursday 9th January, and in response to comments received so far, an additional drop-in session has been arranged in the Community Room at Oban Court, Whinbush Way, on Wednesday 15th January 2020 between 4.00pm and 7.30pm, giving residents and other stakeholders a second opportunity to view the details, with Council officers and representatives of the site promoter available to answer questions. Skerningham has been recognised as having potential to provide additional houses within the Borough. Access points into the area have been considered, one being through Springfield Park which raised objections. Additional work has been commissioned to consider this access to the site further. A public drop in session will be held at Whessoe Parish Hall on Thursday 9th January 2020 between 3.00pm and 6.30pm where Council officers and representatives of the promoter will be available to answer questions. By Planning Policy Team at 3 Jan 2020Consultation on emerging proposals for the development of land to the North of Darlington town are taking place during October 2017. The first event is being held on Wednesday 11th October and the second will be held on Saturday 14th October.
The promoters of the Skerningham Garden Village site, Theakston Estates, will be engaging with local residents and businesses so that their views can be used to inform the development of a masterplan for the site.
