Documents for the Heighington and Middleton St George Draft Spatial Plan consultations are now available
The consultation documents are now available to view on our Consultations page.
As part of the preparation of the New Local Plan, work has been undertaken on exploring future development opportunities at two of the larger villages in Darlington; Middleton St George and Heighington. Draft spatial plans have been drawn up for both of these villages.
The Council is to consult the villages on these draft spatial plans in order to receive feedback from the community and stakeholders. The consultation will run from 4 Dec 2017 until 8 January 2018. During this period you can provide your views and comments to us on the draft plans.
The comments received will be used to inform the new Local Plan for Darlington and any policies / proposed allocations for the village areas.
The consultation documents for both villages are available to view on our Consultations page.
Drop in sessions are also being held in the villages at the beginning of the consultation period. Council Officers will be in attendance with the draft plan for the village and they will be able to answer any questions which you might have. Please see details of the locations and times below.
- Heighington Village Hall 4th December 2017 3pm – 7pm
- Middleton St George Woman’s Institute Hall 6th December 2017 3pm – 7pm
It should be noted that this is an early stage to comment and there will be further consultation on a draft Local Plan for Darlington in spring/summer 2018.
