Community Infrastructure and Education

 

Work is ongoing to ensure development proposed in the local plan provides sufficient education and community infrastructure to support both existing and future residents of the borough.  This includes working with key stakeholders to develop:

 

• Mechanisms to provide good school places within the Borough to meet the needs of Children’s education.
• Provide a means to secure good primary and pre-school facilities in sustainable locations that are within easy walking distances for families and in general to reduce the demand for home to school transport to all facilities.
• The best options for meeting the demand in schools places in the medium (5 years) and the long term (2036).
• An evidence base to demonstrate a realistic delivery plan for new or extended education facilities through the plan period.
