ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) in Social Work
The ASYE is a year long programme designed to help Newly Qualified Social Workers (NQSWs) develop their skills, knowledge and capability, and to strengthen their professional confidence.
Darlington Borough Council provide NQSWs with regular, focused support and development during their first year in employment. The ASYE is provided to NQSWs in Childrens and Adults teams. It includes a holistic assessment of an individual’s abilities in their first year of employment as a qualified social worker by introducing a consistent standard against which knowledge and capability can be judged. Assessment is based on the Professional Capabilities Framework (PCF) [external link] and the Knowledge and Skills Statement (KSS) for social workers.
There are 2 statements of KSS:
KSS for Social Workers in Adults [external link]
KSS for Social workers in Children and Families [external link]
You can find more information about the ASYE programme on Skills for Care [external link].
